The sundial

Time, as it should flow

I wanted this sundial in my hotel because I felt the need to bring time back to its true meaning.

We live immersed in a constant race, marked by digital clocks, full agendas, and notifications that interrupt every moment. But time is not this. Time does not run. Time exists; it moves slowly, gracefully. We only notice it when we pause to observe.

The sundial, created by the artist Wolfgang Lamchè, is a symbol for me. A silent gesture inviting those who stay here to slow down, breathe, gaze at the sky, and let themselves be touched by the light. The sun, tracing shadows on the wall, reminds us that every hour is different, yet each holds the same value. There is no hurry. No seconds to chase. Only the present to live.

With this work, I want my guests to feel that time is a value, not just a measure. Looking at the sundial changes our perception of time itself: it does not rush, but reveals itself slowly, stretches out, and can be savored.

Those who stay at Hotel Bellevue San Lorenzo do not only find relaxation and beauty, but also a gentle and profound invitation: to pause for a moment and rediscover the true value of time.
