In October 1913, the friendship between Max von Gruber (owner of Villa Gruber) and Gustav Klimt led the great Viennese painter to stay in Malcesine. During this time, he created two remarkable works: View of Malcesine and The Church of Cassone.

Echoes of Green and Metal: Tales Sculpted in the Park

In the heart of the park, among meadows, oaks, and centuries-old cypresses, Wolfgang brings to life small metal fables. Oxidized bronze takes on shades of green, blending into the grass and transforming imagined animals, such as ducks, foxes, and lizards, into ancient, delicate, and surprising creatures. This section gathers the artist’s works designed to be experienced outdoors: installations that change with the light, that tell of seasons and footsteps, and that invite wonder.

In 2026, our art park will be enriched by the works of Eduard Habicher, sculptor and friend of Ruggero, who has created two unique installations inspired by the dialogue between steel, sky and Lake Garda. 1987: the first step into art at Hotel Bellevue

The black-and-white photo from 1987 captures the beginning of Ruggero Togni’s journey at Hotel Bellevue and the inauguration of the first Modern Art sculpture in the park, created by the minimalist Gianfranco Pardi. Surrounding the work, prominent Italian artists from the 1980s and 1990, many of whom would later contribute to the park, created a unique blend of art, scenery and nature, inaugurating an artistic tradition that remains at the heart of our hotel.

I wanted a sundial in my hotel to give time back its true meaning: not a race to chase, but a value to be experienced. In a world dominated by hurry and notifications, this work by the artist Wolfgang Lamchè becomes a silent invitation to slow down, observe the light, and breathe in the present. The sundial does not measure time; it tells its story, reminding us that every hour holds the same value and that pausing is, today, a true luxury. OUR GARDEN

To improve the quality of your stay, we have, in friendship with many painters and sculptors, developed an artistic itinerary, between installations of sculptures and exhibitions of paintings, in the belief of offering our guests a moment of reflection and surprise, complemented by a pleasant cultural taste.
